This album is one that will leave you speechless. Think of the combination of Behemoth and Mayhem. The extreme aggression of both bands combined could even be too much for the metal veterans. But for those who can grasp on to the pure greatness of this album will be appreciative of what Weapon creates. Let’s take a look at the track, “Vanguard Of The Mourning Star”. Right off the bat, the instruments sound just like Norway’s Mayhem, a sound which has made an imprint into the Black Metal scene. This song has just so much to offer. With the harsh sounding vocals, and the thundering roar of the double bass, this is a song that takes heaviness to a whole new level. The drum work can easily be related to the style Inferno from Behemoth plays, which is a style that is hard to master. All in all, this is one solid track, that will bring heads banging down, and death in the pit.

With the album titled track, “Embers And Revelations”, the pounding force will not let up anytime soon. This song is filled with blast beats, and some of the fastest double bass I have ever heard. The guitar work is extremely melodic, almost like in Melodic Death Metal, but still keeping the Black Metal distortion. The style of this song is very straightforward: Speedy, heavy, and a hard hitting force. There is not one moment when the speed slows down, or the guitars lay off the assault on the audience. If you want something to fill your dark soul with something evil, then this is the track for you! Weapon is a band that should not be taken lightly. These guys will become veterans in their style, and leave another entry in the metal history books as something truly great. You want a band to have a sound like Mayhem?
